DCXperts has established a concept of developing a HPC/Data Center direct liquid cooling system characterized by modular design, two-phase liquid cooling, application of hot-flux dielectric engineering fluids, reuse of heat generated by the infrastructure for various purposes, allowing low PUE when installed. Initial testing of the above mentioned solutions suggests that energy consumption caused by computational operations will be cut by 40-45% as compared to cooling systems based on air-conditioning.

Member: Digital Catapult

Logo
Profile:

Digital Catapult works with SMEs to help them grow and scale faster. It helps larger corporates in their digital transformation. It does this through programmes of collaboration and open innovation, by bringing academic leading edge expertise into the mix combined with the organisation’s own business and technological expertise.
Digital Catapult carries out applied research and development collaboratively in order to open up new markets for large numbers of SMEs to enter in new and emerging technologies. It achieves this by tackling large-scale digital challenges that are too complex, financially risky or will take too long for market forces alone to deliver.
Digital Catapult works across a range of technology layers:
1. Connected: Internet of Things, distributed ledger technologies, decentralised web, 5G and low powered wide area networks
2. Data-driven: trust, privacy, identity and security, blockchain and cyber-security
3. Intelligent: machine learning and artificial intelligence
4. Immersive: virtual reality, augmented reality, haptics and new forms of human machine interface.
By applying business and technology know-how to the new commercial opportunities unlocked through Digital Catapult’s programmes and collaborations, new markets and opportunities can be created for UK digital companies.
Through the Digital Catapult’s work with organisations across the digital landscape, it is uniquely placed to help Government implement digital policies and identify policy needs in emerging technologies.

For too many businesses, too many manufacturers, too many people, security is an afterthought. What's the use of being connected to everything if our data, our identities and our transactions aren't secure?

From more than twenty-five years of protecting millions of computers around the globe, from the first malware to the latest targeted attack, we know this for sure: you will be hit. The only question is if you will recover and come back stronger.

To do that, you need the right team in your corner. For F-Secure, cyber security is more than a product—it's how we see the world.

Indra is a company with a spirit of leadership and international development, which is why we require not only a unique offering with high added value, but also a continual improvement in our project and processes management capacities. For this reason, innovation is the basis of Indra’s strategy, which has been reflected in the quality of solutions and services developed by the professionals who form part of Indra and the internal progress of its organisation.

The incorporation of companies such as Azertia and Soluziona, , reinforces the company’s leadership in innovation, as it brings in businesses which closely complement Indra, from the point of view of both vertical and geographical markets and boost its capacity to generate a highly innovative global offering.

Investment in R&D&i forms an essential part of corporate innovation processes. During 2012, Indra has continued to invest in R&D&i at the same rhythm as previous years, devoting 193 M€, or 6,6 % of sales.. This investment effort was reflected by Indra’s position of fourth place in Spain in every sector within the European ranking of the 1,000 highest investors in R&D.

Indra continues to work on solutions for the new security challenges faced by our society. In recent years, we have developed a comprehensive range of security solutions and services by combining and aligning all the company’s capabilities in this specific area.

These solutions include identification systems, such as access control, applying the latest biometrics technology (fingerprint, face and iris recognition), and a mobile device that automatically detects a manipulated ID document. The new solutions include an intrusion detection radar able to locate a moving object in a radius of 1.5 kilometres direct a camera and alert a control centre.

A large part of Indra’s innovation activities relate to specific projects clearly designed to meet emerging technological demands from final users. The company therefore participates in many institutional initiatives to support R&D&i, both in Spain (such as the AVANZA programme sponsored by the Ministry of Industry Energy and Tourisme; INNTERCONECTA, programme sponsored by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness) and abroad (the EU’s Framework Programme for R&D&i). The significance of innovation for Indra’s business in a global market generates the need for collaboration with many corporations and institutions, privates and publics . In this respect, universities are key innovation partners.Agreements with institutions of innovation and knowledge have increased by more than 300% in the last years.

Assuring project quality and management At Indra we are aware that to innovate means to evolve and to change the way we do things by transforming internal processes. With this in mind, we have created Project and Solution Development Centres and launched software production delocation projects in a select network of off shore/near shore sites.

As Indra is basically a project-oriented business, we seek excellence in project management. The project management office is responsible for ensuring the latest international regulations are incorporated into the methodology employed and are correctly applied.

Tight project completion deadlines and stringent quality standards can be met thanks to Indra’s integrated quality management system. The company has the ISO 9001:2000 certificate for this system, for several years, as well as the PECAL 110 and PECAL 150 quality certificates applicable to Defence activities.
